Usually add "Ed" at the end of the word, for example: learned, stayed
The verb ends with "e" and a direct "d",
The consonant ends with "Y" and goes to "Y" and "ied" for example: studied,
Irregular changes, such as do -- did, is -- was, are -- were, etc
