Third person singular
In the general present tense, when the subject is the third person singular, the predicate verb should use the third person singular form, that is, often add - s or - es after the original verb form
1、 The personal pronouns he, she, it are the third person singular
He likes watching TV
She has lunch at twelve
It looks like a cat
2、 A single person's name, place name or address is the subject; it is the third person singular
① Han Mei looks like her mother
② Beijing is in China
③ Uncle Wang often makes cakes
3、 When the singular countable noun or "this / that / the + singular countable noun" is the subject, it is the third person singular
① A horse is a useful animal
② This book is yours
③ That car is red
④ The cat is Lucy's
4、 The indefinite pronouns some one, some body, no body, everything, something, etc. and the demonstrative pronouns this, that are the third person singular
① Everyone is here
② There is something wrong with the watch
③ This is a pen
④ That is an eraser
5、 When an uncountable noun is the subject, it is the third person singular
① The milk is in the glass
② The bread is very small
6、 When a number or letter is the subject, it is regarded as the third person singular
① "6" is a lucky number
② "I" is a letter
